Welcome
The mission of PMEA is to advance music education by encouraging excellence in the study, teaching, and making of music. Our objectives are to promote and support quality music education, learning and performance, and support music education in schools and communities. Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) is an affiliate of the 65,000 member Music Educators National Conference (MENC.) PMEA is a service organization to music education in the Commonwealth. The membership includes those engaged in music instruction at all levels, from preschool through college and university, retired educators, as well as those in music industry.
In addition, students enrolled in music education may participate in collegiate chapters and secondary students may participate in Tri-M Honor Society. PMEA provides leadership in professional growth and offers special opportunities for musical development to school students.
2008 Acceptance Audition Results Online
Results from the 2008 Instrumental and Choral Acceptance Auditions are now online and can be found in the Members Only section. All directors have been supplied with the necessary log-in information. If you have any trouble accessing the page please email Justin Hill. (11/23/08)
District 8 Members Only Section
Due to some security problems encountered with our password protected members only section we have changed the log-in information (Nov. 23). This information was distributed to all instrumental directors in attendance at the Instrumental Acceptance Auditions. 2008 District Jazz Bylaws
All directors: please note that we are using AUDITION PACKET #1 for the 2008-09 District Jazz Festival. Instrumental Directors are also alerted that the Lead Excerpts should be taken from Packet #3 (pg. 33-35); however, everything else is based off of Audition Packet #1. Additional excerpts will need to be selected for Packets #1 and #2 at this year's festival. (11/16/08)

District 8 Bulletin Board
The District 8 Bulletin Board is now "open for business". Use the bulletin board to advertise current events in your district, post general announcements and discussions, or post a job opening or musician for hire. All that is required once at the bulletin board is to click on "register" and create an ID and password. (11/5/06)
